Jeptha Creed is a family-owned craft distillery sitting on 64 acres of farmland in Shelbyville Kentucky. As the only mother-daughter team of distillery owners in Kentucky, Joyce and Autumn Nethery take a unique approach to distillation. The Nethery family has been farming in Kentucky for five generations. Today they continue that tradition as a “ground-to-glass” distillery, meaning they grow or locally source the ingredients used in Jeptha Creed spirits. Fruits, herbs, and open-pollinated heirloom Bloody Butcher corn are grown in their fields. They save seeds, use honey harvested on-site, and pull water directly from the creek. This old-fashioned process means that Jeptha Creed remains sustainable and authentic while producing excellent spirits. Come experience Jeptha Creed’s authenticity! You will tour the distillery production facility and get an exclusive tasting from one of our first barrels in the Barrel Barn! On the way to the Barrel Barn you will see the actual corn fields, mints, herbs and bee hives that flavor our spirits. As a new distillery, the Netherys could have simply contracted or sourced a Bourbon, but they chose instead to create something distinctly their own. In August of 2016, Jeptha Creed distilled and barreled the first legal bourbon in Shelby County Kentucky since before Prohibition. In May of 2019, Jeptha Creed released the first batch of their Kentucky Straight 4-Grain Bourbon. This Bourbon has a unique mash bill of heirloom Bloody Butcher Corn, malted rye, malted wheat, and malted barley. Its palate is complex and rich with notes of vanilla, nutmeg, clove, and toasted pecans, with a long finish of vanilla mint and a lingering hint of baking spices. Neat, on the rocks, or mixed into your favorite cocktail, Jeptha Creed’s thoughtful ground-to-glass approach and commitment to quality is evident in every sip of this elegant Kentucky Bourbon.
